Leukoplakia and Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Leukoplakia is a general term for white spots that develop in the mouth. Most of the spots are noncancerous. However, in this photo, squamous cell carcinoma (indicated by arrow) is present in 1 of the spots on the underside of the tongue.
